Melissa Felian is a dedicated federal public servant, who has worked on files related to export development, foreign direct investment and broadband connectivity. Over the course of her career, she has worked at the Canadian Embassy in Washington D.C., Global Affairs Canada and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada.
Her experience told her that it was clear that Erin O’Toole and Canada’s Conservatives are the only alternative to secure the future, restore competence, transparency and accountability to government, and ensure Canada is never unprepared for a crisis again.
Melissa embraces the diversity of her mixed heritage and celebrates Canadian multiculturalism. Her mother is an immigrant from Guyana and her father is of Canadian and Hungarian descent.
Melissa is passionate about charitable causes that impact families, and has fundraised for the Children’s Wish Foundation, Cardiac Kids and the Government of Canada Charitable Workplace Campaign.
Melissa believes that Canada is a country of opportunity, with potential for greater prosperity and growth. Melissa’s experience in the public service will allow her to advocate for strategic policies that support businesses and job creation. Melissa will be a voice for the diverse communities that live within Markham-Thornhill and will work to represent her constituents in Parliament.
She holds a Bachelors of Arts in English Literature and a Masters of Public and International Affairs from York University.
Melissa knows that through Canada’s Recovery Plan to secure jobs, health, and Canada’s economic future, that Canada’s future will be secure with Conservatives.
